Do you understand some Spanish, but still feel blocked when you try to speak?
Maybe you have spent hours studying grammar, completing exercises or buying books and methods, but when it is time to communicate, everything feels slower than you expected. You search for words, translate in your head, doubt the grammar or feel that your Spanish does not sound as natural as you would like.
If this happens to you, the problem is not that you are not capable. Very often, the problem is the way the language has been explained, organised and practised.
My name is Sonia Mejías, and I am a Spanish teacher with more than ten years of experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education with a specialisation in Music Education, and a specialisation in Special Educational Needs. I am also a certified DELE examiner for levels B1–B2.
My lessons are for learners who want more than random conversation or isolated grammar exercises. They are for people who want to understand how Spanish really works and use it with more confidence, clarity and naturalness.
In my classes, we do not simply memorise rules. We connect grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and communication so that Spanish starts to make sense as a system. You learn not only what is correct, but why it is correct, when to use it and how to apply it in real situations.
My method combines language teaching, cognitive grammar, learning psychology and real communication. Thanks to my background in Special Educational Needs, neuroeducation, music and learning strategies, I can adapt explanations, rhythm, materials and practice to the way you learn best.
First, we identify what is really blocking you: mental translation, fear of mistakes, grammar confusion, lack of vocabulary activation, pronunciation difficulties, low confidence or lack of fluency practice. Then we build a clear and personalised learning path with structured materials, practical exercises, speaking practice and individual feedback.
The lessons follow the official A1–C2 levels, the Common European Framework of Reference and the guidelines of the Instituto Cervantes. However, every class is adapted to your goals, interests, pace and learning profile.
