I am formally writing to apply for a possible English teaching position in your school. Honestly, I believe this position would not only provide a great opportunity to further my career as a teacher, but also a riveting experience, which would give me the chance to be in touch with different cultures and realities. Moreover, I believe that my willingness to work hard, ability to learn and to adapt to new situations and extreme dedication would make me a good candidate for this job and a way to enhance the pupils’ learning process. Although I have Portuguese nationality, I am a bilingual speaker (English and Portuguese), not only because I come from an immigrant family (Mozambique and South Africa), but also because, at home, we have always been in touch with both languages and cultures.

Based on the experience I have gained through my degree in education and work placements, I consider myself to be a professional, motivated, committed, dedicated and qualified teacher (5 year teaching degree in English and German) with the ability to motivate and guide students during the whole learning process. Furthermore, I would like to say that I am a humble, competent and caring tutor, who would really like to be considered a valuable contribution to your school team, because I am able to interact spontaneously and fluently in English with different pupils from diverse backgrounds, grades, ages, cultures, beliefs, realities, etc.

Indeed, I have gained some pertinent experience in teaching right before finishing my degree in education, during my traineeship, when I had the amazing opportunity to work as a teacher (English and German – 10th, 11th and 12th grades) in a public High School. In the meantime, I had the chance to enhance my practice by working with different pupils, of different ages, social backgrounds and grades, as an English teacher in Primary public schools (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades - Extracurricular Activities Programs) and also working with grown-ups in private professional schools (Language Training Projects).

In Spain, I had the amazing opportunity to teach business English (In-company classes) in different institutions, such as, Instituto de la Mujer para la Igualdad de Oportunidades (Beginner level), Instituto Oficial de Credito (Advanced level) and Shire Pharmaceuticals Spain (Intermediate level).

Moreover, in my last job, not only was I responsible for teaching general English to different ages (young children – 4 years old, teenagers and adults) and levels (beginner, elementary, intermediate, upper intermediate, first and advanced), but also exam Cambridge preparation (PET – Primary English Test, FCE – First Certificate in English and CAE – Certificate in Advanced English).
