Hi! I'm Christie! Welcome to my Page. Thank You for your interest in my private lessons. I'm excited that you are here.

To tell you more about myself, I have taught English as a Second Language (TESL) for 9 years, and have my Master of Arts in Teaching ESL from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.

I also have my Graduate Certificate and license to teach in the United States, and have taught in the United States as a classroom teacher. However, I now live in Palma de Mallorca.

After 8 school years of classroom teaching experience, I know I enjoy teaching children/young adults, and teaching English has become a passion of mine. I love how each person is unique, and each learns and communicates in different ways. I find it interesting and challenging to discover the techniques that are successful to each person’s learning.

I am intrigued by the vastness of language/expression and diversity. I believe that as a Cultural Ambassador and language tutor I have shared knowledge of American/English language and culture, and even the differences in the American/British English language. I, too, have benefited from the interaction within a Spanish/Catalan/Mallorquin society and I have enjoyed every minute.

I strive to create engaging and meaningful lessons objectives that ask for critical and higher-level thinking from the student. In this way, my lessons are authentic, fun, and relevant to the real world. I am sure that any student will enjoy my classes and feel challenged through thought-provoking tasks.
