HOW WOULD YOU SAY...? Son frases comunes, pero ¿sabrías decirlas?

Do you think you would be able to translate the following sentences into English?

Yes? Give it a try!

- ¿Qué tomarás para el almuerzo?

- Hace frío, quizás llueva.

- ¿Puedes prestarme tu bolígrafo? Por supesto, cógelo.

- ¿Cuánto tiempo has estado esperándome?

Can you see it?Just take it'.

Sometimes, the English we learn through lessons is focussed on getting us practicing verbal tenses and other grammatical structures of different sorts, or to make us develop our vocabulary, etc. And all of a sudden, you go to an English-speaking country and find yourself in the situation of having to say something utterly common, just to realize... that just don't know how.

It is for that reason that reading in English on a daily basis (books, articles,... whatever!), listening to English daily is so important in order to build up language. But also, we should have the opportunity of practicing these sentences, of saying 'Can I borrow your pen' and hearing the other person answering 'Yes, it's there, on the table. Can you see it? Just take it.'
