German-Canadian travels world teaching! Now in Barcelona

I entered university on a scholarship to play for the university's basketball team. I did not know what subject I wanted to study- my Basketball card said "Major: Undecided" and my mom laughed since all I loved was travel, meeting foreigners and basketball at age 19.

After one year of basketball, meeting people and taking classes in Psychology, Philosophy, French, Sociology, German and Linguistics, I decided that my passion was teaching English- it would be a career that would allow me to see the world and work anywhere.

After 4 years of Linguistics, in sunny, no-snow, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, I moved to Cairo, Egypt to volunteer at a charity helping children labourers. I was hired to be the ESL Coordinator at a Canadian private school in the outskirts of Cairo. We were all Caandian teachers living and working for a year. I had 4 Mohameds in one class- my grade one class. In my social life- I had more then 7 friends named Mohamed. It was an extremely interesting year in Cairo. That lead me to teach in northern Canada the following year.

I began to work with a charity called Elephant Thoughts Education Outreach and we were the leaders in educating Natives in northern Canada. We engaged the young students with science and I began my career as a children's performer. We lived up in the northern most places of Eastern Canada- one day it was -43 degrees celcious! Imagine the suffering!

Next, I taught in Brazil, then India and now in Bracelona. Check back to hear more stories on my cultural experiences living in some of the most dangerous counties for women. I learned alot- enough to know that Barcelona is the best city in the world!

I've been teaching here for 1 year now and am building a language communication business. If you are interested in gaining from my patience, enthusiasm and creative, useful English lesson plans to achieve greater fluency- connect with me.
